FLEXI-cross Project's 6th Plenary Meeting in Cyprus: Progress and Live Demonstrations
On October 2nd and 3rd, 2024, all FLEXI-cross project partners gathered in Nicosia, Cyprus, for the 6th plenary meeting. The event focused on reviewing the progress achieved so far, with partners showcasing the development and integration of key modules.
On the second day, three live demonstrations were conducted in the presence of FRONTEX representatives and the project officer from REA. The first demo highlighted how a live drone detected irregular activity and streamed the video to a HOLO lens, while simultaneously sending it to the GUI UI for Border Control Point (BCP) personnel. The demo also tested the live user verification/identification app, which successfully relayed events to the GUI UI for visualization.

The second demo focused on detecting suspicious driving behavior, such as U-turns and unlawful parking, with alerts immediately displayed on the GUI UI. The final demo showcased the detection of human trafficking events, which were also reported to the GUI.
The event concluded with a presentation of the Visual Analytics Dashboard, providing a holistic view of all reported events through charts and graphs to support BCP personnel in making informed decisions. This successful demonstration sets the stage for the next phase, where all components will be fully integrated and tested at real border locations.
