INGENIOUS Final Event
The INGENIOUS and FLEXI-cross projects are collaborating together!
The Project Coordinator (PC) of the FLEXI-cross project, Giuseppe Vella, presented FLEXI-cross at the INGENIOUS Final Event that took place virtually, on the 31st of January 2023.
INGENIOUS aims to assist First Responders in being more effective and saving more lives during natural and manmade disasters and crises by exploiting novel technologies. The project is developing, integrating, testing and validating a Next Generation Integrated Toolkit (NGIT) for Collaborative Response, which ensures a high level of Protection and Augmented Operational Capacity to respond to the disaster situation.
The PC provided an overview of the three different Use Cases, addressing road, port and rail-based border-crossing conditions in the:
- Dunabe based port of Galati in Romania
- Greek-Bulgarian borders at Ormenio
- Romanian-Moldovan rail crossing
Mr. Vella reported also the challenges and solutions in regard to the deployment and continuous validation of a toolkit of innovative border-checking solutions, in real operational environments.
The approach toward the project’s impact maximisation was also presented, with emphasis on the effects on:
- Information security, while integrating diverse systems
- Economical, environmental and societal aspects
- Border-check points/ports operations
It was also nice learning more about the CURSOR project & H2020-Faster Project, and gaining valuable exchange of knowledge and experiences.
